What your donation does

So that we can ensure the money that you donate is used in the best way possible, every year we evaluate our work and its effects. In 2021, thanks to your support, we were able to provide 305,000 people in need with aid packages (e.g. food or hygiene packages). We provided 661,000 people with access to clean drinking water, and gave essential medical care to over 2.1 million people.

We seek to use the money entrusted to us as effectively and responsibly as possible. When we receive donations that are earmarked for a specific purpose, we make sure that it is used for that purpose.

Donations with a specific designation can be a way to make sure that your support goes to a cause that is close to your heart. In our unstable world, however, needs change rapidly, and too many earmarked donations can cause imbalances in funding. This can make it difficult to maintain other projects that are also in need, and contributes to the problem of so-called forgotten crises: humanitarian disasters that do not receive the international aid and attention that they need.

That is why we ask you to consider designating your donation for use where it is most needed – so you can be confident that your contribution will make the most difference to people that really need it. You can do this by selecting ‘Where it is needed most’ from the drop down menu in our online donation form.
