Prostheses for people with war injuries in Ukraine
According to estimates, around 14.5 million people in Ukraine need medical care (source: OCHA Situation Report, 19.12.2022) - including many patients who require prostheses and rehabilitation services due to war injuries. In order to help these people and provide them with high-quality prostheses, we have joined forces with multidisciplinary partners and jointly set up an aid program for patients with war injuries. Malteser International strengthens the technical capacity of this health care service: We equipped Ottobock's prosthesis workshop with all the equipment, tools and materials necessary for prosthesis production. In addition, we enabled the training of two Ukrainian prosthetists for use in the workshop.
