Malteser International’s work in the Americas is focused on Latin America and the Caribbean, and the Malteser International Americas Regional Office is located in New York City in the United States. Our projects in the Americas tend to stress increasing the resilience of local civil society actors, and supporting the work of national associations and organizations of the Order of Malta. The long-term approach favoured by Malteser International can been seen in action in Haiti, where our project staff continue to help with rebuilding and development years after their arrival to provide emergency relief following the earthquake that devastated the country in 2010.
