Start a fundraiser & support our work for people in need

Anyone can set up a fundraising campaign for Malteser International. Whether as a private person, in the name of a company, an association or a school: everything is possible.

However, we reserve the right to edit or delete campaigns should they contain any of the following characteristics:

• Misuse as advertising space for websites or services (through commercial links, etc.)
• Commercial or private offering of goods or services
• Racism and hate propaganda
• Incitement to violence against persons, institutions or companies
• Pornography
• Insults and degradation of persons in any form
• Violations of third party rights, including and in particular copyrights
• Calls for demonstrations and rallies of any political direction
• Campaigns that are not written in German or English language
• Negative content about foreign organizations and companies

You can only collect donations for Malteser International's work for people in need, not for your own projects. However, you can choose the cause or project country for which you would like to start your own fundraiser. All you need to do is select the respective donation purpose from the "Collect for" drop-down menu. You find it difficult to decide on a cause? Then we recommend making a free donation ("Where it is needed most"). This will enable us to use your collected donations where they are most needed. You can't find the country you would like to collect donations for? We are active in over 30 countries with more than 100 aid projects. All donations go directly to Malteser International and our work for people in need. Your collected donations will benefit exactly the purpose you have selected. You can promote your fundraising campaign in a variety of ways. Mobilize your friends, relatives and acquaintances via Facebook, Instagram, e-mail, or WhatsApp, for example. If you are active as a school, association or company, you can also place the link to the campaign on your homepage or in your newsletter. Would you also like to reach donors who are rather offline than online? Then you can easily create a QR code for your fundraising page that you place on flyers and posters.

Donors can leave a personal comment with their name below each campaign. This is the easiest and fastest way to see who has participated in the campaign.

On special occasions, we may forward a list of donor names and the total amount of donations of the campaign to the person who started the fundraiser.

Everyone who has donated to the campaign will automatically receive a donation receipt at the beginning of the following year for donations of €50 or more. For smaller amounts you do not need a donation receipt for your tax return in Germany, the bank statement is sufficient. This means that initiators of fundraising campaigns who do not donate do not receive a donation receipt. Only those who donate can receive a donation receipt.
