Human suffering continues as thousands flee violence in Idlib

The global attention on the Syrian civil war seems to be fading, but civilians continue to suffer as air strikes and bombardments increase in the country's northwestern province of Idlib. Since November 2017, regime forces have launched an offensive in the province, and as a result thousands have fled to seek refuge at the Syrian-Turkish border.

Many people fleeing the violence have been displaced multiple times, and the capacity to provide shelter in camps is overstretched. Malteser International is responding to the unfolding humanitarian crisis.
